This week for my author profile I decided to read a book by Jan Brett, her books are very interesting and great for I believe for 1st to third grade. Her book are always surrounded with animals and holidays, seasons and so on. I think her books are a good way of teaching the students about seasons and their outcomes. I also found a great website of hers were she shows her books and also great activities for the teacher and students to do and enjoy.

Seeing the picture of the book that you posted makes me want to go get a copy and read it! Even from this tiny little verson there is so much detail and it is so warm and inviting. I could see how the children would be so engaged and love to read this book!
ReplyDeleteHi Yolanda :-)
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I want to say GOOD JOB on finding such a cute looking story. I read the reviews that were posted on Amazon about this book, and everyone has something good to say! I don't know about you, but I absolutely LOVE the winter season! My favorite holiday of course is ...CHRISTMAS! Not because of the presents of course :-) It is always fun to be in the children's classroom right around Christmas break. They are very much so, full of energy and excitement! This book would definitely be read as a read aloud in my classroom when the Christmas season came around. The magical adventure and mystery that the baby gingerbread man and his other snowy friends go on, will more than likely, get the kids into the holiday spirit! Jan Brett's website is full of games, activities, pictures, books and information of her love for what she does best.
Thank you for sharing this Author with myself and the class! I have already bookmarked her websites into my favorites! :-)
Have a good weekend!
